About us

At Humanloop our mission is to make automating tasks as natural as teaching a colleague.

We're building the future in which AI does not replace humans but gives people the tools to achieve things that today are restricted to a tiny group of people with specialist expertise.

Machine learning represents a genuinely new paradigm for software that needs a different approach.

We're starting with tools thats makes it easy to rapidly annotate data, train and deploy natural language processing (NLP) models with humans in the loop. Almost every company could benefit from software that better understands language but building NLP systems today requires specialist expertise and unreasonable amounts of human annotated data.

Our team

Our team have worked on some of the largest AI projects at Google, Microsoft and Amazon, and have studied ML at UCL and Cambridge. We're advised by many of the smartest angels, operators, and researchers and we're backed by Index Ventures and Y Combinator.

We believe that the reason we'll succeed is because we're committed to learning and growing as quickly as possible. We know there's lots we don't know. What we're doing is fundamentally new and will require overcoming many hurdles. Steve Jobs said that innovation is "creativity that ships". We're a research-oriented company looking to push the boundaries of AI through product that improves peoples lives. We're not just inventing, we're innovating and that means that we ship. We ship often and we ship fast.

We believe in having a growth mindset both as individuals and as a team.

As individuals, we're intellectually curious and view challenges as opportunities to learn and improve. Our mission is bold and hard so inevitably we wont know how to do everything on day one, so we will need to keep growing and learning.

If you recognise that you have a lot learn then you should know this is the same for your teammates. We are generous with our time. We teach each other and invest in training and support. Our colleagues are smart and committed so every weakness is an opportunity for them to develop a new strength.

We love diving into cold water both literally and metaphorically. When you approach a daunting new task it can be scary but we dive in head first. Take the hard path. Be adventurous and run directly in.

We are a remote first company. We see many benefits to being remote and plan to be that way for the foreseeable future. We also believe that building strong culture and innovating require trust and face time, so we want to be able to meet in person frequently and have offsites for longer term planning and fun!

Candidates should be willing to work approximately on GMT and be willing to travel to the UK approximately every two months.
